Altered Title Policies at Center of Alleged $100 Million Bank Fraud Scheme

July 9, 2026

According to a criminal complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, a Southern California man is accused of creating falsified title insurance documents that misrepresented lien positions on real estate-backed loans pledged as collateral to secure financing from Western Alliance Bank.
