ALTA Reports Q1 2025 Title Insurance Premium Volume
Washington, D.C., July 2, 2025 — The title insurance industry generated $3.9 billion in title insurance premiums during the first quarter of 2025, according to the American Land Title Association’s (ALTA’s) latest Market Share Analysis. This is up 15.6% compared to the same period during 2024.
“The industry’s solid performance this quarter highlights its critical role in supporting a secure and functioning real estate market,” said ALTA CEO Chris Morton. “In the current economic environment, the title industry remains financially stable, operationally sound and committed to delivering protection and peace of mind to homeowners and lenders alike.”
Total operating income increased 14.7% during the first quarter of 2025 compared to Q1 2024. Total assets were almost $11.5 billion, while the statutory surplus was more than $5.1 billion and statutory reserves were strong at $5.7 billion. The industry paid $162.5 million in claims during the first three months of 2025. This is up from $160.8 during the same period a year ago.
