Stewart Acquires Moritz Title Co. Grand County of Fraser, Colo.

May 25, 2005

HOUSTON, /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Stewart Title Co. has acquired Moritz Title Co. Grand County LLC from Moritz Title Company LLC and Scott A. Bloom. The office is located in Fraser, Colo., just outside Winter Park.

The acquisition does not include Moritz Title Company Denver.

The company will be renamed Stewart Title of Grand County and its existing management and staff will remain, including Scott A. Bloom as manager.

"This acquisition adds to our coverage of the world-class ski resort towns in the state," said Rand Zimmerman, group president, Stewart Title Co. "We are already in Steamboat Springs, Aspen and Vail.

"What makes the Winter Park area so special is that it is only an hour and 15 minutes west of Denver and still has very reasonably priced real estate," said Zimmerman. "Couple those two factors together and we believe that Winter Park is poised to be one of the fastest-growing ski areas in Colorado."

Fraser and Winter Park are located at elevations of 8,800 and 9,000 feet, respectively, in eastern Grand County -- referred to as the Fraser Valley -- in a high mountain park with five distinct mountains. The Winter Park Ski Resort has been in operation for 66 years and is the oldest continually operated ski resort in Colorado. It is located west of Denver off Interstate 70 and north on U.S. Highway 40.

"Moritz Title Co. has been a Stewart agent since 1999," added Zimmerman. "It is a fast-growing, quality agency and we are very pleased to be bringing this office into the Stewart family."

"We are very excited about joining the Stewart family," said Bloom. "As Stewart Title of Grand County, we will have access to the resources necessary to continue providing the best possible service to our customers. The staff also will enjoy the great benefits that come with being part of the Stewart family."
