Stewart Title Guaranty Co. has named Renella Hill as SVP, diversity officer.

Hill, a 27-year STGC veteran, will chair Stewart's Diversity Council as it provides guidance in enhancing internal diversity. She also will work closely with Stewart's MultiCultural Markets Council to define the employment needs of the company to better serve local communities.

The MultiCultural Markets Council is led by Jose Menendez, Stewart's national director of multicultural markets. Matthew Morris, STGC senior vice president and director of planning and development, will provide guidance to the Diversity Council and the MultiCultural Markets Council.

"The Diversity Council is a focused effort that will provide resources to managers to attract and retain a diverse group of skilled individuals at every level of the Stewart organization. I am proud of the efforts the Diversity Council and the MultiCultural Markets Council currently have underway."

Hill will continue to work closely with Stewart's human resource directors on the regional level across the country, as well as with local Stewart Title human resource officers to develop hiring strategies for their individual communities.

"Renella has been extremely effective through the years as a resource for managers at all levels who are seeking to widen the diversity of their staff," said Nita Hanks, senior vice president, STGC employee services. "We are pleased to make this position official within Stewart."

Responsible for the development and maintenance of the company's associate handbook, new-hire orientation program, safety/emergency program, performance appraisal process and other programs, Hill has served as a company vice president for six years. She provides explanations and interpretation of company policies and procedures to all levels of the company as well as its direct title operations.

Hill is a native Houstonian who attended Texas Southern University. She also is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management.
