TSS Software Complements Document Library With New ALTA® Forms

December 21, 2006

Annapolis, MD— TSS Software Corporation, one of the nation’s largest independent provider of settlement services software, reports its extensive electronic document library now includes the newly revised 2006 American Land Title Association (ALTA) policy forms.

TSS’s document library, which includes over 18,000 electronic forms used in real estate title and settlement processes, continues to grow as underwriters adopt the revised ALTA forms. TSS prepares and packages the forms for integration into its Document Preparation System, a component of TitleExpess, TSS’s nationally used title and settlement platform.

The American Land Title Association provides standard forms for use by title insurance companies throughout the United States. This year, the association adopted new commitment, policy and endorsement forms.

As underwriters adapt their own forms to include the latest ALTA language, they must obtain approval from state regulatory agencies before releasing the forms for use. When those are provided to TSS, TSS enhances the forms, making them compatible with TitleExpress, and then notifies its customers when the forms are available for download from the TSS website.

TSS’s underwriter-specific forms package is one of four included in their sizeable document library. Other packages include state-specific forms based on individual state requirements; general forms for use in all jurisdictions; and loan documents commonly used by lenders.

June Gibson, Director of Document Preparation Systems for TSS said, “It’s an advantage to the underwriters to have their forms available in the agents’ software.” She said further that some underwriters have used this opportunity to consolidate all of their forms, providing entire sets to TSS for preparation.

Robert Miller, TSS Chief Executive Officer, said, “Our foremost responsibility is to our customer agents. They tell us what forms their underwriters want them to use and we take it from there.” TSS contacts the underwriters, obtains their forms, and makes them ready for title agencies to use with TitleExpress. The adapted forms become part of the TSS document library.

Miller added, as the process goes forward with additional underwriters adopting the 2006 ALTA forms, “We’re up to date and ready to serve our clients.”
