Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac Forms Requirements

December 13, 2007

As a reminder, all title agents (except those in TX, NM, and FL) should be prepared to issue the 2006 ALTA Loan Policy as of January 1, 2008. This has been mandated by both Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac for all loans purchased after that date. We are advised that regulatory approvals have been obtained in all states (except as noted) and you can expect lenders' instructions to begin requiring the new Loan Policy shortly if you have not already seen such instructions. Please be prepared with new jackets, software upgrades, or whatever other training or procedural steps needed to respond to this new market requirement.
