Live from ALTA's Business Strategies Conference

April 20, 2009

ALTA's first Business Strategies Conference is officially underway!  Attendees are gearing up for a day packed with informative meetings and important discussions about the major issues affecting the title industry.

Yesterday, several ALTA Committees met to further their 2009 initiatives.  These volunteers sacrifice their own personal time to help ALTA achieve its goals and we appreciate their participation and dedication to the title industry.  ALTA could not be successful without the hard work and active participation of these members.  Thank you!

Attendees are off to an early start this morning with an opportunity to earn CE/CLE credits at Professional Development Sessions.  The morning schedule continues with the first General Session, which has two exciting panels discussions.  The first focuses on improving cross-industry business relationships.  ALTA has assembled a panel of title industry partners who will discuss their important connections to our industry.  We have representatives from the Mortgage Industry, Realtors and Surveyors who will discuss how we can work better together to achieve our business goals.

Then attendees will listen to ALTA's RESPA Implementation Taskforce's presentation and receive important updates on ongoing conversations with HUD.  The Taskforce is identifying unclear areas of the new HUD-1 and later in the month the Taskforce will be meeting with HUD officials to gain clarification. This is a great opportunity for attendees to ask their questions and have their concerns addressed by title industry experts working directly with HUD.

Attendees will continue the conversation during Roundtable discussions over lunch.  A variety of topics will be offered and the dialogue is open and encouraged. Attendees will finish the day with  more opportunities to earn continuing education credits during a series of Professional Development sessions before ending the day at a Networking Reception.  It should be an exciting day here in San Antonio.  Check back tomorrow for more on the latest information coming to you LIVE from ALTA's Business Strategies Conference.
