ALTA Policy Forms Approved in February Published as Final

April 3, 2012

Except for a few minor changes and one exception, Policy Forms approved by the ALTA Board on Feb. 21 have passed through the comment period and are published in final as of April 2.

Minor updates to the header and/or footer have been applied to the 3.2-06, 9.6-06, and 9.7-06 endorsements. In the new 36 Series Endorsements, paragraph 3.b. has been updated in 36-06 and 36.1-06 to be consistent with other endorsements in the series. A minor typographical error was also corrected in Endorsement 36-06.

Publication of the U.S. Policy Form will be delayed to accommodate the U.S. Department of Justice, which requested a six-month extension. The department will review the new policy and work to update its regulations to enable acceptance of the new policy in lieu of the 1991 U.S. Policy. The header has been updated to reflect the new prospective publication date of Dec. 3, 2012, and one other comment has been incorporated.

All of this information is reflected on the Policy Forms page at and redlines showing the changes pursuant to the comment period are also available. These newly published forms will be available to all site visitors, without requiring a login and password, for several weeks. Questions may be directed to Forms Committee staff liaison Kelly Romeo.
