ALTA Member Company Celebrates 75-Year Anniversary

January 22, 2013

South Bend, Ind.-based Meridian Title Corp. is marking 75 years in business this year. Formerly known as St. Joseph Title Corp., the company was established in 1938 as The Abstract Company of St. Joseph County Inc., opening for business in South Bend and serving the land record data needs of St. Joseph County.

Today, Meridian Title Corp. has over 30 offices located in markets throughout Illinois, Indiana and Michigan. In addition to these statewide operations, Meridian Title has a national commercial services division, located in downtown Chicago, serving nationwide commercial transactions. In association with a network of professionals, Meridian Title serves residential transactions across the United States.

To facilitate the needs of today’s real estate climate, specialty departments and services also include REO/foreclosure, relocation, short sale and tax sale services (Indiana). A privately held company, Meridian Title Corp. is known for community involvement and educational support to industry professionals and consumers. The company provides title insurance, title research, escrow closing and real estate related services for residential, commercial, new construction, land development, default (REO/Foreclosure), easement and zoning related transactions.

Meridian Title is a member of the American Land Title Association and the Indiana, Illinois and Michigan land title associations.
