Take ALTA's Social Media Survey

February 12, 2013

ALTA wants to provide tools that are the most useful to our members. To help us with this, please take a moment to complete this short five-question survey, to give us a better understanding of how members utilize social media to market their business.

Why are having the right social media tools important? A Pew Internet survey found that 65 percent of Internet users in the U.S. used social networking sites, up from 61 percent the previous year. Sixty-one percent of adults under 30 reported that they used a social networking site at least once on a typical day while daily usage among Internet users aged between 50-64 rose sharply, from 20 percent in 2010 to 32 percent last year. The exponential use of smartphones only plays into this growth as social networking is just a finger tap away. According to Pew Internet, 40 percent of cell phone owners use a social networking site on their phone, and 28 percent do so on a typical day.

Additionally, if you are looking for helpful tips on how to use social media, Wayne Stanley, ALTA’s manager of external communications, will give a presentation “Don’t Fear the Twitter” during the 2013 Business Strategies Conference (March 14-15 in Oklahoma City, Okla.)

“Harnessing the power of social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn can lead to new opportunities and growth in any organization,” Wayne said. “Attendees will learn how to build an influential presence on social media without breaking the bank or disrupting business. People should leave with ideas to invigorate and jump-start their social media efforts and a comprehensive understanding of major social media platforms.” Click here for more information about Business Strategies and to register.
