CATIC Names President and CEO

March 8, 2016

CATIC Financial, Inc. and Connecticut Attorneys Title Insurance Company (CATIC) recently appointed James Czapiga as president and chief executive officer of CATIC.

Having worked in the title industry for more than 20 years, Czapiga has worked in several positions in management, sales and operations. Most recently he served as vice president of a national title insurance underwriter.

In addition to being the past president of the Connecticut Title Association, Czapiga is a member of the Real Property Section of the Connecticut Bar Association, the New England Land Title Association, the American Land Title Association, and the Real Estate Finance Association of Connecticut. He earned his juris doctorate from Western New England College School of Law.

Czapiga succeeds Richard Patterson, who announced his retirement after 33 years of service. Patterson began his tenure at CATIC in 1983, serving as director of the company’s agent services department and then as executive vice president.
