First American Named to Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work

For the fourth consecutive year, First American Financial Corporation was named to the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For list.

“Our people and the integrity, commitment and teamwork they display each and every day have earned our position as one of the best companies to work for, now for the fourth straight year,” said Dennis Gilmore, CEO of First American Financial. “It’s our strong belief that putting people first matters, and this philosophy begins with our employees and extends from there to our customers, our shareholders and the communities in which we work.”

First American was among hundreds of companies evaluated for placement on the list. The evaluation is based on survey feedback representing more than 4.3 million employees, with respondents rating their workplace culture on 60-plus elements of the workplace. These include trust in managers, compensation, fairness, camaraderie and workplace traits linked to innovation. The ranking accounted for the experiences of all employees, including women, people of color, LGBT individuals, older team members and disabled employees.

“The 2019 100 Best are the leaders in creating the most innovative workplaces built on trust,” said Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place to Work. “Employees at these organizations feel valued, respected and heard, and are inspired to be their best selves because of the commitment these winning companies have made to creating a great workplace for all employees, no matter who they are or what they do for the company.”

In 2018, Fortune magazine and Great Place to Work recognized First American for the third consecutive year as one of the Best Workplaces for Women and one of the Best Workplaces for Diversity, as well as one of the Best Workplaces in Financial Services and Insurance for the second year in a row. First American has earned recognition as a “best place to work” 55 times in publications across the United States since 2012.
