Can You Afford to be a Wire Fraud Victim?

July 17, 2019

Join Us for the Final Boot Camp of the Year!

Which can you afford: two days out of the office or becoming a victim of real estate wire fraud? Frightening subjects like cyber fraud and data privacy are “everyone” issues. Every person – inside and outside the title insurance and settlement industry – has been, will be or knows someone affected by at least one of the issues we’ll cover at ALTA Innovation Boot Camp. Shouldn’t you be prepared?

Fortunately, our FINAL Boot Camp of 2019, scheduled for Aug. 12-13 in Chicago, can help you and your business get ready to face these problems head on. And, because you’re only a short flight or drive away, you won’t spend too much precious time out of the office. As an added bonus, Boot Camps provide CE and CLE credits in more than 20 states!

Check out some of our sessions:

  • Cyber Fraud and Liability Trends: Tom Cronkright, CEO of CertifID and previous real estate wire fraud victim, will provide an analysis of the alarming fraud trends that are rocking the industry and real-life examples of the evolving fraud techniques that will increase the likelihood of funds diversion.
  • Raising Consumer Awareness on Wire Fraud: This workshop explores creative ways to use new and existing ALTA materials to educate consumers about Wire Fraud, while building trusting relationships. Participants will walk through the various touch points with a 360-degree approach and discuss the different market segments as well as how to get their attention.
  • Training Your Staff: Increasing awareness and training staff is key to preventing real estate wire fraud. Linda Grahovec ITP, IEP, NTP will focus on the ways agents and their business partners can reduce the risk of wire diversion and related email compromise by using proven methods to train your staff to recognize and prevent wire fraud.
  • A Recipe for Data Protection and Incident Response: In this workshop, you will learn the ingredients and recipe for a robust data security plan and practical tips on what you can do today to mitigate risk and effectively prepare for a data security incident.
