NATIC Appoints Regional Underwriting Counsel

North American Title Insurance Co. (NATIC) names Chad Hansen vice president, regional underwriting counsel for Colorado, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Wyoming and Idaho. Hansen will provide underwriting support to NATIC agents throughout those states and beyond with his broad local and national experience.

“Adding Chad to our underwriting team has afforded us a commercial-based talented team member, coupled with vast residential knowledge from all perspectives,” said Valerie Jahn-Grandin, NATIC executive vice president and chief underwriting counsel. “Our NATIC agents will find his experience lends a strong analytical and creative approach to all the underwriting issues being confronted in today’s changing market.”

Prior to joining NATIC, Hansen worked in various legal roles for national and regional title insurance companies. Most recently, he served as vice president and national underwriter at a publicly traded title insurer, where he was responsible for reviewing and underwriting commercial real estate transactions on a national scale as well as serving as lead attorney for company initiatives and business development activities. For 10 years, he ran a private law practice, representing clients on commercial transactions, real estate development and other matters. Hansen is licensed to practice law in South Dakota and Minnesota and is also a member of the Iowa, Minnesota and South Dakota bar associations.

“I am looking forward to helping agents move forward with a technology-oriented company,” Hansen said. “Working with NATIC will allow agents the ability to take advantage of the coming changes in the real estate and title industries."
