Webinar: Title Industry Market Performance Review and Outlook

September 28, 2020

In April 2020, AM Best revised its outlook for the title segment prompted by the sudden economic slowdown and the significant increase in U.S. unemployment brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. This revised outlook assumed a slowdown in new home sales, refinances and commercial real estate transactions—all of which were expected to dampen revenue prospects for the title insurance industry. Fast forward, AM Best will discuss how the title segment has thus far weathered the storm. In addition, while the title industry has been evolving and modernizing—including the adoption of digital closings and other distribution and processing enhancements)—the still developing headwinds and uncertainty could present some challenges for the title industry over the near term.
