Greater Illinois Title Names Chief Underwriting Counsel

January 12, 2021

Greater Illinois Title Company (GIT) has named Gina Llanas as vice president and chief underwriting counsel.

In this role, she will be responsible for title and closing matters for large commercial transactions, satisfying closing requirements and providing underwriting decisions for related transactions.

Llanas joins GIT from Attorneys Title Guaranty Fund (ATG), where she was a commercial underwriting attorney. Prior to joining ATG, she was senior counsel and real estate attorney at the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA), worked as foreclosure attorney for Pierce and Associates and represented commercial developers at Bronson & Kahn LLC.

In a related move, GIT promoted Ladislaus (Wally) Zbilut to vice president senior underwriting counsel. He has served as title counsel at GIT for over 10 years. He was formally a regional underwriter at Chicago Title, and senior claims and fraud review counsel with Fidelity National Title Group.

The Greater Illinois Title Company Group of Companies operates 26 offices and is licensed in 25 states.
