North American Title Adds Agency Compliance Manager

North American Title Insurance Co. (NATIC) has appointed Janice Cassidy as agency compliance manager. In this role, she will evaluate and monitor NATIC’s independent policy-issuing agencies, settlement agents, escrow agents and approved and supported attorneys for compliance with agency underwriting agreement requirements, company programs, legal and regulatory requirements and ALTA Best Practices initiatives.

A 25-year title insurance industry veteran, Cassidy began her career as a title searcher and examiner before becoming owner of a title agency in New Jersey. She then became an escrow manager and title officer in Jacksonville, Fla. She subsequently worked as an auditor, claims analyst, software tester and escrow compliance and business analyst for a top national underwriter.

“Janice is well suited for the position of agency compliance manager, and she is ready to hit the ground running to provide our agents with the guidance they need on a myriad of issues,” said NATIC President Emilio Fernandez. “Her impressive career demonstrates her commitment to two of our company values—being customer-obsessed and solution-driven—by providing the best possible course of action for agents to streamline their operations, while ensuring they are compliant with local, state and federal laws.”

Cassidy will also advise agents on a spectrum of issues impacting their business, helping them meet future challenges and lay a strong, compliant foundation for success.

“Throughout my career, I have developed strong and lasting relationships with professionals in all aspects of this industry,” Cassidy said. “I maintain knowledge of local customs and applicable statutory requirements and apply these skills to identify risks by conclusion of fact. I look forward to providing our agents with guidance on industry trends, resources for growth and ongoing training and education.”
