First National Title Names New CFO

May 17, 2022

First National Title Insurance Co. (FNTI) named Brent Scheer as its new chief financial officer.

Scheer replaces Raymond Reece, who served in the role since FNTI was created in 2012. Reece will step down effective May 31.

“Ray has been CFO and the financial expert at two very successful underwriters,” said Chris Phillips, president and CEO of FNTI In 1991 he joined a very small regional underwriter in Plano, Texas. And over the next 21 years, helped Title Resources Guaranty Company grow into a top 10 regional ranking. In 2012, he became FNTI’s first CFO and succeeded in growing it into a top 10 regional underwriter. His solid leadership and steady demeanor were the driving force in the success of these companies. Ray’s well-deserved retirement begins a new chapter in his life. We are all proud of his successes, but also recognize he will be deeply missed by all of us.”

Scheer, who previously worked for Shaddock National Holdings since 2020, has 16 years of industry experience.

“I am humbled to be asked to follow in the footsteps of Ray Reece,” Scheer said. “He is a steady hand at the rudder that has been the financial reporting rock for FNTI. I wish him all the best and look forward to seeing him more on the golf course and less in a spreadsheet. It will be a team effort as no one person can replace all that Ray did for FNTI. We look forward to carrying on the tradition Ray started at FNTI of fast and reliable financial reporting but most of all, tremendous leadership.”
