Knight Barry Title Aids Sanibel Community Impacted by Hurricane Ian

October 20, 2022

By now we’ve all seen the initial damage reports from Southwest Florida after Hurricane Ian ripped through the state. Knight Barry Title has many offices throughout Florida, including a handful in this hard-hit region.

According to CoreLogic, Hurricane Ian caused an estimated $41 billion to $70 billion in insured and uninsured wind, storm surge and inland flood losses to residential and commercial properties in the U.S. The Sanibel Causeway was badly damaged in the hurricane making vehicle access to Sanibel Island, Fla., impossible for months to come.

Until further notice, Knight Barry Title shifted its Sanibel Captiva operations to its Ft. Myers location.

Because many Sanibel Island title agencies were one-office shops, Knight Barry Title is offering the use of its Ft. Myers location to any title company in that area needing assistance. Additionally, if a displaced real estate agent, mortgage lender or local real estate attorney needs a spot to connect with a client, Knight Barry’s conference rooms and resources will be made available.

“Whether you need a closing room, a copier or an extra set of hands, our Knight Barry Title team in Ft. Myers is ready to help as needed,” said Craig Haskins, chief operating officer for Knight Barry Title. “The land title industry has rallied together when tragedy has struck our company in the past and we’re happy to do all we can for our Sanibel real estate community during this time.”
